Ah, what a month August has been and now we’re welcoming September- We’re just a few months away from the end of 2017! Crazy, huh?

Silat is a traditional Malay form of martial arts and is becoming more popular in Tambunan as the district’s sport. The district has its own unique style of silat called Seni Silat Kuntau Babas which is a blend of traditional Malay Silat and Dusun kuntau martial arts. See the strength and beauty of the Silat as a form of martial art from various Silat associations in Sabah, performed by the state’s best Silat masters right here in Tambunan.

Rated as one of the toughest and most scenic race courses in Malaysia, the TMBT or The Most Beautiful Thing Ultra Trail Marathon takes runner’s on traditional village trails along the base of Mount Kinabalu through ethnic Dusun villages up and over the mountain ridges. A total of 1500 runners will be competing in either the 12km or 28km trail run category, while others will be racing in the 50km or 100km ultra trail.

Botany and gardening enthusiasts are invited to check out BIOS to learn and discover the uniqueness of the orchid plant. Meet orchid enthusiasts and experts from around the world there as they gather to share their love and passion for orchids at the annual orchid show.

This 10k fun run kicks off at the iconic Tanjung Simpang Mengayau (also known as the Tip of Borneo) at 4pm. With a breathtaking vista of the South China and Sulu seas and waves crashing along Kalampunian beach, this run is set to be the one of the most scenic runs of the year. And the icing on the cake? The sun setting in the horizon creates a backdrop like no other.
