32nd Sabah Annual Art (1 Feb – 31 Jul 2017) @ Sabah Art Gallery

A program that aims to discover and ignite the passion of creative individuals of all ages. This state wide art selection program is open for entry and forms are available at the Sabah Art Gallery and all submission centres around Sabah. If you’re not participating, come and view a variety of artwork by talented individuals from all over Sabah and be amazed by their potential and creativity and be inspired yourself!

17th City Day Celebration (2 Feb 2017) @ Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu

Let’s come together to celebrate Kota Kinabalu’s 17th anniversary! Lots of activities and events in stored for all throughout the month of February in celebration of our beloved city and home. Some of the acitivities include City Day Open Regatta, dance and group performances and many more!

Fitness Carnival (4 – 5 Feb 2017) @ Likas Sports Complex

A health and fitness filled event from  SiDMA Explorace, Fitness Dance, Battle of the Band, Dart Competition and Crossfit at the Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu. Event highlights include the 2nd UNITAR-SIDMA Charity Fun Run and a martial arts SIDMA K1 Kickboxing Amateur competition. Come and get healthy as you join in the fun with other fitness enthusiasts and talented individuals.


Chinese New Year’s Celebration Ala Tambunan Tze Yap (4 Feb 2017) @ Pisompuruan Square, Tambunan

The Chinese New Year’s celebration continues at Tambunan. Just for your info, 2017 is also visit Tambunan year so why not drop by for an exciting experience with lion and dragon dance performances, firework shows and many more! This is a one-day event only and it’s not to be missed. Let’s join in the Lunar New Year spirit and fun in Tambunan!

Chinese New Year Festival, Pitas 2017 11 – 12 Feb 2017 Dataran Salimpodon Laut, Pitas

Another awesome and fun-filled Chinese New Year celebration that’s not to be missed! Last year, the event was awarded by the Malaysia Book of Records for the ‘Longest Non-Stop Chinese New Year Event’! Be amazed by lion and dragon dance performances and many more other activities. This two-day event is sure to lift your spirits during the weekend.

Borneo Ultra Trail Marathon (BUTM) 2017 (18 – 19 Feb 2017) @ Kiulu Village, Tuaran (Start/Finish)

A Marathon with astounding views, with runs from 100k, 50k, 30k and 12k. This challenging marathon will cover trails through hanging bridges, quaint villages and rolling hills! If you’re not participating in this intense event, do come by and cheer the runners on.





Amri Ginang – A Visual Journey (22 – 23 Feb 2017) @ Sabah Art Gallery

An art exhibition showcasing the creative works of Sabah-born professional photographer, Amri Ginang. Currently KL-based, Amri Ginang uses photography and a free-spirited shooting style to capture rare, often unseen perspectives. He has years of photography expertise and has made a name for himself overseas. This is definitely an art exhibition not to be missed!



City Day Open Regatta (25 – 26 Feb 2017) @ Kinabalu Yacht Club, Tanjung Aru

Part of the City Day Celebration, the City Day Open Regatta is held annually to celebrate KK City’s milestone. Bring your family along to watch skilled sailors sail their regattas across the massive waters while you enjoy a day out in the sun by the beach.

Odou Bakanjar (25 Feb 2017) @ Tamu Ground, Kuala Penyu Town

A colourful occasion celebrated by the beautiful Tatana people of Kuala Penyu, you can get to enjoy traditional food, cultural performances and an exciting parade! It’s a great way to learn about a new culture and experience it for yourself! Kuala Penyu also makes a nice road trip destination if you’re from KK. A short weekend getaway sounds like a plan, no?
