Eating is a lifestyle for Sabahan, for its not only satisfying cravings and hunger but when comes to eating together it also foster relationships. Personally, I love eating with friends and families as we share our daily life over the scrumptious meal.
Recently, heard about a newly opened buffet steamboat which Satay Celup is one of their specialties; it is the first in Kota Kinabalu to offer Satay Celup as it is a cuisine from Malacca (West Malaysia). On top of that, unlimited supply of seafood is the main attractions for most of the diners!
Unlike many others, Ben’s has more to offer than just packing processed food. From Australia lamb and beef to Ostrich, fresh vegetables and the most craved for – fresh seafood! Other than the Satay Celup and unlimited seafood, the most notable is the MSG free soups that the owner actually boiled it for at least 8 hours. Prawns, crabs, squids, clams are all awaiting and if you are lucky you might get scallops or mussels for the day.
Thereare a few choices for the soup base too! Satay Celup, Tomyam, Chicken, Tomato; if you are having Satay Celup, you will need to constantly stirring the base to avoid burning. You can always ask for two different soup base.
They do provide BBQ just beside the shop front, all you have to do is just handover a plate of raw food at your choice to the staff and they will do it for you; how wonderful is that? However it might takes a little bit longer than usual during the peak hours.
Ben’s Satay Celup is located at the newly built shop lot – Pavillion Bundusan, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It is open from 5pm to 10pm and reasonably priced at RM28nett per adult, RM14nett per children and RM5nett for kids below 4feet with free flow of drinks. You might want to consider going as early as 6pm or making reservation a day before to avoid disappointment.
